Have you ever wondered how you can make money from photos you’ve already taken? Are you interested in making money with your camera, but not interested in working with new clients? Regardless of the type of photographer you are, there’s a niche for you and you can start making money soon.
There are a ton of small brands & businesses that need photos, but don’t have the talent, gear or womanpower to do so. What do you think they do next? The smart ones utilize stock photo networks and that is where we come in!
5 Ways to Sell Your Photography & Videography While Traveling
Getty Images Stock
Getty Images isn’t just for photos, you can contribute videos and music as well. If you didn’t have much of an audience before, contributing your files to Getty images platform will allow you to reach a wider audience.

Adobe Stock
With Adobe Stock you can sell more than just photos and videos, you can also include vectors and illustrations to your portfolio as well. This gives even more opportunities for those of you who are into multiple styles of graphic design work. Many members like that adobe stock offer is not exclusive partnerships.

Shutterstock
Shutterstock is another popular name on this list and they run a bit differently than the other contributor programs. While other platforms give you a commission when your file is licensed, Shutterstock’s commission is dependent on how many people license your file that year. It sounds a bit confusing, but there’s a ton of payout explanations to answer all of your questions. Just like the others on this list Shutterstock accepts photos, videos and music.

Alamy
Alamy is a company I recently heard of, but was surprised by all of the benefits. Alamy offers high commissions for students; if you’re a student photographer you can get extra resources through their website. Creating a community feel you can find your niche and grow as a photographer.

Whether you upload your own content or become a customer, Pond5 has a referral program that allows you to share a link with friends and earn a commission from their purchases.

Things to Consider Before Selling Your Images
Before selling your images make sure to read the fine print. Some of these platforms offer non-exclusive partnerships, but others only offer exclusive partnerships. Depending on the partnership you agree to, you may not be able to use your photo on another platform or resell it. Make sure to keep track of your agreements as well as some sort of system so you don’t confuse any of your images. It isn’t complicated, but it can be if you don’t keep track of things and accidentally double dip.
