Chicago’s Best Skyline Viewpoints – Your Guide to Get Gorgeous Chicago Skyline Photos
by jazminmarie United States, Illinois, Chicago
There are a few must-have photos when you visit Chicago and one of them is a photo with you and the Chicago skyline. With the collection of beautiful glass buildings, the sun’s reflection always looks so beautiful; one of my favorite activities is just sitting and admiring the skyline. Here are my favorite spots to admire the beautiful Chicago skyline:
My Favorite Chicago Skyline Views
Bridge Over South Pond near Lincoln Park Zoo
My favorite spot in Chicago is the Bridge Over South Pond near Lincoln Park Zoo. Not only is it a beautiful view of the Chicago skyline, but you also have access to trails lined with Illinois native plants and a free admission zoo nearby. This whole area is very photogenic, no matter where you are your photos will be filled with beautiful buildings or greenery.
📍: 2121 N Stockton Dr, Chicago, IL 60614
Adler Planetarium
Another great spot to admire the skyline is the Adler Planetarium Skyline Walk. The Adler Planetarium Skyline Walk is the free admission cement trail around the Adler Planetarium that gives you a full view of the skyline while you’re surrounded by water. There’s nothing more relaxing than facing north west towards the sky line and admiring the blue water between you. Whether you prefer to show up in the morning for the sunrise or in the evening for a sunset, the spot offers amazing views.
📍: 1300 S DuSable Lake Shore Dr, Chicago, IL 60605
Chicago Riverwalk
The next spot that you should check out is the Chicago Riverwalk. It’s a green trail that allows you to get close to the water and a close-up view of the skyline along the Chicago River. Admission is free and there are a ton of outdoor and shopping activities along this 1+ mile path. My favorite activity is sitting anywhere along the river watching the kayaks and boats as they float on by.

Ping Tom Memorial Park
Originally a rail yard, Ping Tom Memorial Park is now a beautiful green space loved by photographers all over Chicago. This picturesque area near Pilsen shows you a lovely view of the Chicago skyline along with the river and St. Charles Air Line Bridge. Ping Tom Park is over 17 acres and there is space for everyone to get their skyline view.
