After the last few years, it isn’t uncommon for you to still be a little bit uncomfortable in crowds. Even though travel has definitely ramped up, the experiences that we are looking for may not be the same as before. Just last year, Chicago welcomed over 30 million travelers and this year’s numbers may be higher. If you’re still looking for a way to experience Chicago, but alternatively with locations that don’t gather too many crowds I’ve created a list of fun locations that you can enjoy in a more intimate setting. Here are 7 things to do in Chicago, Illinois that are great for introverts:

Take a free walking tour of one of Chicago’s neighborhoods.
Pick up a book at the Semicolon Bookstore.
Take a short hike near Riverbank Neighbors Park.
Admire all of the greenery at Garfield Park Conservatory.
Walk the trails around Lincoln Park Zoo.
Visit one of Chicago’s museums like the National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts & Culture.
Photograph yourself in front of some of Chicago’s street art.

When do all the tourists leave Chicago?
The bulk of Chicago’s tourists leave around the end of July. Chicago is the most congested during the summertime around the end of June and for the month of July.
Which attractions would be fun for an introvert in Chicago?
There are so many attractions around Chicago that would be fun for anyone who wants to beat the crowds. Some of my favorite attractions around Chicago as an introvert include admiring Chicago’s green spaces, seeing beautiful views of the Chicago skyline and even hiking around some trails around Chicago. How do I avoid getting stuck in crowds when visiting Chicago, Illinois?
Visiting Chicago during the months leading up to summer and the months after summer will allow you to explore the city and enjoy the nice weather without all of the tourists and crowds. The best time to visit Chicago to avoid the crowds would be in May or early June, then after the bulk of summertime in August and September for Fall.
