Why You Should Start A Travel Blog
Starting a blog has been one of the most rewarding experiences that I’ve had. Whether you are a experience traveler or are you only travel occasionally, I think documenting all is a great place to start. I’m so happy I started when I did, but I always wish that I have posts about my earlier adventures to look back on. Here are a few reasons why I always recommend someone should start a blog is:
1. You get to share more first-hand knowledge that just won’t fit into a review box.
Sometimes the experience isn’t just about the hotel or about the attractions, but it’s about the whole thing together! Starting a travel blog allows you to share more firsthand knowledge that just won’t fit inside the small space of a review box. Writing about your travel experience as a whole will allow other travelers to get inspiration from your itinerary and duplicate that trip.
2. You are able to reflect on your deep thoughts by reading your previous posts at a destination.
You felt more than just a funny and witty Instagram caption, but where do you write these feelings down? Starting a travel blog allows you to dive deeper than the surface level information that we share on social media. Now you’re able to document about how you grew when experiencing this new and different thing and how you feel about that growth, instead of only feeling cute. Similar to how I share my journey as a digital nomad and travel planning tips, I’m hoping to inspire other women to take the plunge and start their journeys as well.
3. You have a full archive of all your adventures in text, photo and videos.
This might be my favorite steps about owning a travel blog, by being able to look back at all of my text, photo, and videos of my adventures is always so heartwarming. From the way that I document my experience, to the way that I describe it, I am able to see my growth. Similar to looking back at your first Instagram post, then comparing it to your last one you’re able to see a more in-depth time capsule of who you were.
4. You can monetize your expertise and make money for your travels.
My last favorite thing about starting a travel blog is being able to make money from my blog. I initially started my travel blog as a hobby, but it is true that people are able to monetize their blog and generate an income from previous and future travels. If that is something that you would like to be a part of in the future, slowly starting to document your adventures now would be a great benefit to your business.
